Biography
Cathryn Michon is an award-winning comic, actress, improviser, screenwriter and book author who got her start in the touring company of Chicago's famed The Second City. She has been a writer for Emmy Award winning TV series and is, with her writing partner W. Bruce Cameron, a screenwriter of feature films like Amblin/Universal’s A Dog's Purpose, which is now the most successful international live action dog movie of all time. She’s also a screenwriter for Sony’s A Dog’s Way Home, and the Amblin/Universal A Dog’s Purpose 2: A Dog’s Journey. As a stand-up comic, she has appeared in clubs and in major festivals like The Montreal Comedy Festival and The Toyota Comedy Festival and was a regular guest on NBC's The Today Show. She was the host for three seasons of AMC's cult hit Grrl Genius at the Movies, where she showed some of the greatest chick flicks of all time, highlighting the genius of women in film. She co-directed, co-wrote, produced and starred in the Lionsgate feature film Cook Off!, which was adapted from her bestselling book The Grrl Genius Guide to Life, (HarperCollins, 2001) with Melissa McCarthy (Oscar nominee Bridesmaids) and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Reno 911, Bridesmaids) She also co-wrote, directed, produced and stars in Muffin Top: A Love Story, adapted from her novel The Grrl Genius Guide to Sex (With Other People).
